A stronger fourth quarter is part of the new outlook, as U.S. commercial revenue overtakes U.S. government sales for the first time.

Palantir lifted the midpoint of its 2026 revenue outlook by $378 million after Q3 sales came in about $151 million above the midpoint it had forecast in August.

The software maker is expecting more from the final quarter as well as banking the stronger result it has already delivered.

What the increase contains

Research by Ticker Byline shows that the Q3 outperformance accounts for about 40% of the increase in the annual forecast. Comparing the old and new midpoints leaves approximately $227 million of higher revenue expectations for the remaining quarter.

Palantir's new annual range is $8.530 billion to $8.534 billion, up from $8.150 billion to $8.158 billion. Q3 revenue was $2.313 billion, compared with its earlier $2.160 billion to $2.164 billion forecast.

For Q4, it now expects $2.649 billion to $2.653 billion. The midpoint is about 15% above Q3 sales.

Commercial sales take the U.S. lead

Palantir, which supplies data and operations software to businesses and public institutions, reported a milestone in its American business. U.S. commercial revenue reached $984 million, exceeding U.S. government revenue of $953 million for the first time, the company said.

In Q2, commercial sales had been $764 million, below the government's $809 million. Both businesses grew again in Q3, but commercial sales rose faster.

Palantir now expects U.S. commercial revenue above $3.559 billion for the year, compared with its earlier target of more than $3.424 billion.

Profit grows with the sales

Total revenue rose 96% from a year earlier. Reported operating profit increased to $1.085 billion from $393 million, taking the operating margin to about 47% from 33%.

Adjusted operating profit was $1.427 billion, above the earlier $1.292 billion to $1.296 billion Q3 forecast. That measure excludes share-based compensation and related employer payroll taxes.

New contracts had a reported potential lifetime value of $2.918 billion, up 6% from a year earlier. That measure includes optional future contract periods.
