Bruker develops scientific instruments and analytical technologies for research, diagnostics and industrial applications. Acquisitions have expanded its portfolio, while customer research budgets and laboratory investment affect demand.
| Measure | 2026 | 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $874.0 | $860.5 |
| Operating loss | -$91.0 | -$51.8 |
| Adjusted operating income | $142.6 | $105.9 |
| Net loss attributable to common stockholders | -$122.8 | -$62.4 |
| Goodwill impairment | $174.5 | $96.5 |
| Operating cash flow | $118.2 | -$33.2 |
| Free cash flow | $96.7 | -$54.1 |
Adjusted operating profit excludes goodwill impairment and specified acquisition, amortization, restructuring and other costs. The loss attributable to common stockholders includes preferred dividends. Free cash flow deducts purchases of property, equipment and intangible assets from operating cash flow.
Nine-month goodwill charges totaled $309.4 million, including the $134.9 million second-quarter charge. The report published in August flagged a further goodwill test after the July 1 segment reorganization. The third-quarter release does not allocate the new charge to individual reporting units.
Annual organic revenue growth guidance remains 1% to 2%, with adjusted earnings of $2.10 to $2.15 per share. The reported revenue forecast is now $3.52 billion to $3.56 billion, compared with $3.54 billion to $3.57 billion in August. Bruker now expects a neutral currency contribution, rather than a half-percentage-point boost.
At September 30, cash and cash equivalents were $119.7 million, compared with $298.8 million at year-end. Current debt and finance leases were $10.4 million, and noncurrent debt was $1.703 billion.
Operating cash flow over the first nine months was $112.0 million and free cash flow was $37.5 million. Bruker spent $73.0 million on acquisitions, net of acquired cash, including $57.0 million in the third quarter. Acquisition payments sit outside the company's free cash flow measure.
During the quarter, Bruker repaid $90 million on revolving credit lines and drew $35 million. These borrowing flows and acquisition spending help explain why the cash balance fell despite positive quarterly free cash flow.
Bruker completed the purchase of the remaining stake in mass-spectrometry specialist TOFWERK on January 6. In July, it acquired the DISQVER platform from Noscendo. That platform remains for research use while diagnostic registration progresses.
In August, Bruker announced a majority investment in MIMETAS, which supplies organ-on-a-chip systems and human tissue models for drug research. The financial terms of the DISQVER and MIMETAS transactions were not disclosed; the quarterly acquisition cash figure is an aggregate.
